NAR Code of Ethics Requirement
Code of Ethics – REALTOR® Membership Requirement
REALTORS® (members of the National Association of REALTORS®) are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time within specific cycles. The current cycle (Cycle 7) deadline began on Jan. 1, 2022, and will end on Dec. 31, 2024.
Code of Ethics training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®. Training may be completed through REALTOR® associations or through another method, such as home study, correspondence, classroom courses, or online courses. At its November 11, 2019, meeting, NAR’s Board of Directors, also approved that only courses and equivalencies provided by a local, state, or national REALTOR® association can satisfy the Code of Ethics training requirement. Be sure to check with your local board as to whether the Code of Ethics course you plan on taking will satisfy the Code of Ethics training requirement.
GAR offers courses approved for both the membership requirement and Georgia continuing education (CE) credit.
